3. Look at the Europe map. Work in pairs. Cover the map. Ask your friend questions.

Bu soruda bizden Avrupa haritasına bakmamız isteniyor. Sonra haritayı kapatıp arkadaşımıza sorular sormamız ve cevaplamamız gerekiyor. Soruda da bir diyalog örneği verilmiş.

Diyalog:

• Friend 1: Where is Norway? (Norveç nerede?)
• Friend 2: I think it’s in the north. (Sanırım kuzeyde.)
• Friend 1: Well done! (Aferin!)

Bu diyalogda ilk arkadaşımız Norveç’in yerini soruyor, ikinci arkadaşımız da cevabını veriyor. Haritaya baktığımızda Norveç’in gerçekten de Avrupa’nın kuzeyinde olduğunu görebiliriz. Bu soru, hem harita okuma becerimizi geliştiriyor hem de İngilizce diyalog kurmamızı sağlıyor.

4. Follow the directions and find the treasure.

Bu soruda ise bizden verilen yönleri takip ederek hazineyi bulmamız isteniyor. Önümüzde bir harita var ve bu haritada bir gemi, bir ok, çeşitli resimler ve bir sürü nokta bulunuyor. Bu noktaları kullanarak hazineye ulaşacağız. Haydi başlayalım!

Yönler:

• Go 5 dots the east, 2 dots the south,
• 3 dots the west, 1 dot the north,
• 6 dots the east, 1 dot the north,
• 4 dots the east, 3 dots the south,
• 7 dots the west, 1 dot the south,
• 2 dots the east, 1 dot the south,
• 5 dots the east.

Çözüm:

Öncelikle haritanın sol alt köşesindeki geminin olduğu noktadan başlıyoruz. Haritada yönleri gösteren bir pusula var. Kuzey (N) yukarıyı, Güney (S) aşağıyı, Doğu (E) sağı, Batı (W) ise solu gösteriyor.

Adım 1: Geminin olduğu noktadan başlıyoruz. İlk komut “Go 5 dots the east”. Bu demek oluyor ki, bulunduğumuz yerden 5 nokta sağa gideceğiz. (5 nokta doğu)

Adım 2: Sonra “2 dots the south” deniyor. Yani şimdi bulunduğumuz noktadan 2 nokta aşağıya ineceğiz. (2 nokta güney)

Adım 3: Şimdi “3 dots the west”. Bulunduğumuz yerden 3 nokta sola gideceğiz. (3 nokta batı)

Adım 4: Ardından “1 dot the north”. Bulunduğumuz yerden 1 nokta yukarı çıkacağız. (1 nokta kuzey)

Adım 5: Sırada “6 dots the east”. Bulunduğumuz yerden 6 nokta sağa gideceğiz. (6 nokta doğu)

Adım 6: Devamında “1 dot the north”. Bulunduğumuz yerden 1 nokta yukarı çıkacağız. (1 nokta kuzey)

Adım 7: Şimdi “4 dots the east”. Bulunduğumuz yerden 4 nokta sağa gideceğiz. (4 nokta doğu)

Adım 8: Sonra “3 dots the south”. Bulunduğumuz yerden 3 nokta aşağıya ineceğiz. (3 nokta güney)

Adım 9: Ardından “7 dots the west”. Bulunduğumuz yerden 7 nokta sola gideceğiz. (7 nokta batı)

Adım 10: Şimdi “1 dot the south”. Bulunduğumuz yerden 1 nokta aşağıya ineceğiz. (1 nokta güney)

Adım 11: Ve son olarak “5 dots the east”. Bulunduğumuz yerden 5 nokta sağa gideceğiz. (5 nokta doğu)
